Summer Fan Drive

The Texas summer heat is dangerous. That's why KXAN is working Keep Central Texas Cool with the annual Summer Fan Drive.

The Summer Fan Drive meets a critical basic need: relief from life-threatening heat for those who do not have or cannot afford a fan or air-conditioning. Your donation will help keep low-income seniors, adults with disabilities and families with children cool this summer. Donations can be made at several locations and at Family Eldercare. You can also send a check, cash or make an online donation with your credit card.

Join KXAN, Family Eldercare and KGSR at Threadgill's, June 24th between 7am and 11pm to celebrate the Fan Drive and enjoy live music at Fan Fare Friday! This annual event benefits Family Eldercare's Summer Fan Drive which has provided fans, air conditioners, and other critical services to those in need for 21 years!

As always, the 2011 event will feature free live music throughout the day, but in addition there will be a finale performance by Eliza Gilkyson and The Trishas!
