THE KARATE KID has been known as an 80’s classic. But Columbia Pictures has remade the movie to introduce it to a whole new generation!
In the remake of THE KARATE KID, rising star Jaden Smith and long-time actor and stunt performer Jackie Chan come together to put a fresh spin on a classic story.
This movie is the perfect summer film that families and people of all ages can enjoy. Smith and Chan delivered wonderful performances, both showing sides of their acting abilities that audiences have never seen before.
As part of their nationwide tour, Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan stopped in Dallas, TX to attend a special street festival and red carpet screening on behalf of their upcoming film.
In attendance were over 900 children from local schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters and kung-fu studios who got to participate in activities themed to the film followed by a special screening of THE KARATE KID. Even celebrities like Dallas Cowboy football players and Jaden's father, Will Smith!
Amidst all the fun, I got a few minutes to sit down and talk with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan about the film, what is was like working together and their roles in THE KARATE KID.
THE KARATE KID opens nationwide on Friday, June 11, 2010.
