You know that feeling you get when something wonderful unexpectedly comes your way like an extra 20% off at the register or free dessert after a meal? This weekend, the Alamo Drafthouse is giving you that feeling by showing an early screening of the critically acclaimed foreign film Bullhead.
Recently announced on the short list of Academy Award hopefuls, Bullhead follows the story of Jacky Vanmarsenille, a steroid-using cattle farmer who makes a shady deal with a meat trader tied to the mafia. Jacky must deal with both his traumatic past as well as the consequences of his questionable decisions. Set against this unique backdrop, Bullhead is a fresh approach to the classic crime drama. The film is set to release nationwide on April 27 th, but the Alamo Drafthouse at South Lamar is giving Austinites two chances to see this award winning film before the rest of the country; Saturday at 10:40 pm and again on Sunday at 7:40 pm.
